Two artistic positions between drawing and painting: black and green as open states that unfold in space and in vision.
The exhibition "Between Black and Green" brings together works by Stefanie and Sascha Schestow that have emerged from different artistic processes and yet share a common context.
The focus is on the encounter between two independent positions: Drawing and painting, condensation and openness, surface and line. The works do not stand in a fixed structure of meaning, but develop their effect in relation to each other and in space.
Black and green do not appear as fixed symbols or unambiguous color meanings. Rather, they function as states - as condensations, transitions and fields of tension. The juxtaposition creates relationships that are not predetermined, but only develop through perception.
The exhibition is designed as a spatial experience. There is no fixed reading direction. Connections are created by walking through the space, by comparison, by pausing. Perception itself becomes the central moment of the exhibition: seeing as a process, not as a result.
The exhibition is curated by Annekathrin Siems.
The vernissage will take place on April 11, 2026 at 16:00 and will be accompanied by music by Dr. Dorota Motyczyńska and Dr. Paweł Motyczyński.
The exhibition can be seen from April 11 to August 11, 2026 in the Katzow Sculpture Park.
