First joint Tischbein/Bartsch exhibition
Galerie Kunst am Dom invites you to the vernissage of the first joint exhibition of the two renowned painters Otto Sander Tischbein (OST) and Knut Bartsch. Under the title "An Infiltration", the long-time painting colleagues are entering into an artistic dialog for the first time.
The artists
Knut Bartsch (born May 28, 1966 in Dargun) is an expressionist in both form and color. He has developed a special working method in which he layers transparent painted panels on top of each other. The resulting picture is technically and formally reminiscent of the great Gerhard Altenbourg - one of Bartsch's role models.
Otto Sander Tischbein (born June 2, 1949 in Osmarsleben, OST) completed an apprenticeship as a chemical plant engineer before studying graphic design at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts from 1971 to 1976 under Günter Horlbeck and Gerhard Kettner, among others. He has worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist since 1976. From 1979 to 1989, he was a member of the Association of Visual Artists of the GDR and participated in all important GDR art exhibitions. In 1986, he was awarded 2nd prize in the competition of young artists from the USSR and the GDR. After 1990, he taught at the Anklam Graphic Design School and the Thuringian Summer Academy in Böhlen, among others. His travels have taken him to Norway, Sweden, Italy, Hungary, Mallorca, Portugal, Spain, Mexico, Peru and Ukraine. From 2017 to 2021, he painted the mourning halls at the [cemeteries - please add]. The artist lives in Mecklenburg.
