Presentation of the Usedom Literature Prize to Clemens J. Setz, moderated by Agnieszka Kowaluk, laudatory speech by jury chair Olga Tokarczuk
Two prizes will be awarded at
the
end of the Usedom Literature Days this year: the Usedom Literature Prize in Ahlbeck and the Usedom Translation Prize in Swinemünde.
Clemens J. Setz will receive the Usedom
Literature
Prize on 18 April at 11 a.m. in the Ahlbecker Hof. The jury, led by Nobel Prize winner Olga Tokarczuk, praised "his masterful prose, which combines elements of the grotesque, the uncanny and science fiction without sacrificing humor".He will give an insight into his radically different and thus border-crossing narrative style with a reading from his book "Der Trost der runden Dinge" . The
Usedom Literature Prize is endowed with 5000 euros and is combined with a one-month working stay on Usedom in Ahlbeck (Seetelhotel Ahlbecker Hof).
