Toralf Zoldan has been a facade artist, graffiti artist, and art instructor for 25 years. At the Midsummer Festival, he’ll be sharing his expertise in a two-day workshop. You’ll learn how to design and create your own mural, logo, stencil, or graffiti. At the end, a real-life project awaits you: a portable toilet on the festival grounds that will get a completely new look. Whether you’re just starting out or already creating your own work.
Toralf Zoldan is from Rostock; he has been part of the scene for 30 years and has worked full-time as a facade artist, painter, graphic designer, and art instructor for the past 25 years. In 2025, he served as artistic director of the FritzArt International Facade Art Festival in Stavenhagen. If anyone knows how urban art works, it’s him.
At the Midsummer Festival in Barth, he’ll be holding a two-day workshop where you’ll get the tools to develop your own visual language. No lecture-style teaching, no cookie-cutter approach. You bring your idea, and Toralf helps you turn it into something real.
The workshop covers perspective, composition, color theory, typography, graffiti techniques, stencils, comics, and illustration. You’ll work with spray paint, acrylics, gouache, and other materials.
At the end of the workshop, the group will paint a portable toilet together on the festival grounds. No practice sheets, no classroom project. A real object that everyone can see afterward.
The workshop is open to everyone aged 14 and up. No prior experience is required. If you already draw, spray paint, or are creative in any way, Toralf will help you build on what you already know.
