Ultimate Frisbee tournament "Goldstrand"
Blazing fast and virtually contact-free—that’s “Ultimate Frisbee.” The extra-wide beach at Karlshagen is perfect for one of the fastest sports in the world. The 175-gram Frisbee disc can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h in professional play.
Five players on each team battle for victory in 40-minute games on a field roughly half the length of a soccer field.
Ultimate Frisbee combines elements of American football and basketball (running, throwing, catching, crossover steps). Points are scored by catching the disc in the opponent’s end zone; players are not allowed to run with the disc.
At the Ultimate Frisbee tournament in Karlshagen, which will take place for the 17th time on September 25–26, 2026, 20 teams from Germany and abroad—each with five players—will compete for the championship in 35-minute games. Along with the tournaments in Warnemünde, Greifswald, and on Sylt, the Karlshagen tournament is one of the few Ultimate Frisbee tournaments in Germany held on a “real” (Baltic Sea) beach.
The Goldfingers Ultimate Club e.V. Potsdam is organizing the tournament in cooperation with the Baltic resort of Karlshagen.
