Better Times!

2025/2026 Tour

What times we live in. Of course, Ulla Meinecke’s love poetry and everyday irony can’t conjure up better times, but they can let us forget our troubles and breathe a sigh of relief for a few hours. In her new program, too, her audience can look forward to love songs unlike any they’ve heard before, to poems set to music—free of kitsch, yet full of depth. Ulla Meinecke is a master of the perfect word. Beyond the mainstream. Her stories are snapshots of everyday life that explore the extraordinary in an incomparable way. The lyrics of the self-proclaimed “hardcore romantic” revolve around that one big theme—true love, tender beginnings, little escapes, grand dramas, and dramatic endings. Look forward to an evening of exciting and humorous insights and musical excursions together with Reinmar Henschke. Of course, all of Ulla Meinecke’s hits will be performed—along with many new ones as well. Ulla Meinecke has sold well over a million records from her albums. Ulla Meinecke is a composer and songwriter, and she was already a rock and pop singer long before these genres were even widely discussed in Germany. For over thirty years, Ulla Meinecke has been a fixture in the German music and cultural landscape. In her lyrics, she reflects ironically and in her own poetic language on the mysteries of everyday life and love. Her velvety voice, her poetic language, and—last but not least—her thoughtful and ironic perspective on everyday things are the foundation of her reputation as a singer, poet, and author. In recent years, Ulla Meinecke has performed at many thousands of concerts and held just as many readings from her two books published to date. Ulla Meinecke entered the music business thanks to none other than Udo Lindenberg. She sent him a cassette because he was looking for female musicians to form a women’s band. After meeting the “Panik” rocker, she moved to Hamburg in 1976 to run Lindenberg’s office. At the same time, she pursued her own musical career—also with his support. Her first album, *Von toten Tigern und nassen Katzen*, was released in 1977. Her second album, *Meinecke Fuchs*, was the one that ultimately helped her achieve her breakthrough. Two joint tours with Udo Lindenberg followed before Ulla Meinecke moved to Berlin, where she continued to develop her own style. For Udo Lindenberg’s “Dröhnland-Symphonie” in 1978, they co-wrote a love song. It goes: “Only with you do I have such beautiful dreams; I just want to be with you every second, to the end of the world—if there is such a thing.” “IF NOT FOREVER, THEN AT LEAST FOR ETERNITY” AMONG THE GREATEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME” (Bernd Schleßelmann - BREMEN 1) “If not forever, then at least for eternity.” This album by Ulla Meinecke was one of the standout German pop releases of 1983–84 and was later certified platinum.
