St. Nicholas performance and music by the Ukrainian initiative group in Greifswald
St. Nicholas is one of the most revered saints in Ukraine. The tradition of honouring Saint Nicholas is ancient in Ukraine and dates back to the Christianization of Kyiv Rus, when Christianity came to the banks of the Dnipro. In Ukraine, he is called the miracle worker. He is the favorite saint of Ukrainian children, as he comes to them every year with small gifts.
Our play with small actors in fabulous costumes tells you one of the stories in which the children wait impatiently for the saint and worship him. Ukrainian songs will be played during the performance, and the play itself is written in verse.
Today we are all asking St. Nicholas together for his protection and intercession - so that the skies above our children's heads are peaceful, they have a warm and safe bed and their loved ones are always close to them. Supported by the House of Resources
