Eight artists from various countries come together in the city, work on site, and present their works.
In August, the Kunsthaus Lübz will become a hub for the European art scene for several weeks: Eight artists from various countries will gather in the city, work on site, and present their works in the exhibition“Treffpunkt Kunsthaus Lübz.”
The initiative for the project came from Claudia Maria Ammann, who lives in Mecklenburg and has been cultivating international networks for years. For the exhibition, she invited artists who currently live and work in different regions of Europe. Some of them have left their home countries, while others move between several places of residence. These diverse biographical backgrounds and life experiences are directly reflected in their work.
The participating artists at a glance
Artists: Verena Scholz, Claudia Maria Ammann, Magda Jarząbek, Alja Piry, Jacek Karlowicz, Ellen Karlowicz Rishovd, Edith Spira, and Anke Zürn
Countries: Germany, Norway, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and Slovenia
Diverse Media and Fresh Ideas
The exhibition features sculptures, photographs, installations, paintings, as well as video and light art. A uniform stylistic approach is not the focus; rather, very different artistic styles and perspectives come together. A special highlight: Some works will be created during the artists’ stay in Lübz and will respond directly to the surroundings, the people, and the conversations taking place there . The opening reception will be held on August 14.
