With more than 300 varieties of roses, rare plants, old fruit trees, and handmade pottery, the Schlemmin Rose Garden is a special place to visit.
Treckeltied is the annual weekend of open parks and gardens in Northern Vorpommern. On September 12 and 13, 2026, unique gardens and parks invite visitors to explore, relax, and connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts. An overview of all participating locations is available on the Northern Pomerania Garden Trail website: https://www.leader-nordvorpommern.de/seite/430916/gartenpfad.html
As part of the Treckeltied festival, the Schlemmin Rose Garden will open its gates on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
More than 300 different varieties of roses grow here—including wild roses, historic varieties, the barbed-wire rose and the chestnut rose, as well as a cutting from the 1,000-year-old Hildesheim Rose. Rare shrubs and perennials, a walnut tree, and more than 30 fruit trees round out the plant diversity. Handcrafted ceramics and collected objects add special touches.
The garden has held the “Natur im Garten” certification since 2018 and is designed to be accessible.
Guided tours are available on the spot.
