On Open Gardens Day, the Barth Bible Center invites you to enjoy a special garden experience over two days: On Saturday between 10 am and 5 pm and on Sunday between noon and 5 pm, visitors can explore the Bible and rose garden completely free of charge and enjoy the atmosphere, the colorfulness and the scent of the plants over a cup of tea.

The Bible garden is lovingly designed with around 150 different plants that play a role in literature, culture and natural history. Many of these plants are known from old texts and stories, while others have been given exciting names and meanings in folklore and gardening traditions over the course of time. The Bible Garden is complemented by the Rose Garden, which is home to a large number of different rose varieties whose names are reminiscent of well-known personalities, historical traditions or special stories. As you stroll along the paths, you can explore the diversity of nature and gain an insight into the cultural history of the plant world.

As part of the program, there will be a guided garden tour on both days at 3 pm. This one-hour tour invites you to learn more about the significance of the plants, their background and the special features of the garden.

The visit to the Bible and Rose Garden also coincides with the Treckeltied - a traditional annual event in North West Pomerania, during which gardens and parks open their doors in the fall and invite visitors to discover them. The term "Treckeltied" goes back to the Low German word "treckeln", which means "to move": inspired by the migration of birds and the historical passage of craftsmen and people through the countryside, garden lovers move from one garden to the next during this weekend. The focus is on guided tours, discussions about garden culture and regional specialties as well as enjoying autumnal nature and harvested produce.

The Open Gardens Day and the Treckeltied offer a wonderful opportunity to experience nature, garden culture and stories about plants and their significance - whether you come with family, friends or alone.
