Trøstesang is a trio from Rostock that interprets Nordic music between folk, chamber music and jazz - with a line-up that is as unusual as it is touching:
Thomas Braun - violin, flugelhorn
Karl Scharnweber - piano, harmonium
Enrique Marcano González - double bass
The repertoire consists of original compositions as well as music from Denmark, Sweden and Norway - including works by Gjermund Larsen, Lars Danielsson and Bjarke Falgren. The result is fragile and expansive soundscapes full of longing, wanderlust and emotional depth.
The musicians combine international concert experience with a special understanding of sound: multi-instrumentalist Thomas Braun on violin and flugelhorn, bassist Enrique Marcano González, a native of Venezuela, and pianist and composer Karl Scharnweber together create a transparent, highly emotionally charged body of sound.
Trøstesang has been touring throughout Germany since 2017, performing mainly in churches - in Hamburg, Berlin, Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg - in special places where music finds space and resonance.
"Trøstesang" play an eternal wanderlust for the north of Europe from their souls - directly into the hearts of their listeners.
