The Greifswald University Computer Center is supporting the transition to privacy-friendly alternatives at “DI.Day” (Digital Independence Day). Users can bring their own devices and receive help installing alternative operating systems, messaging apps, or email providers to become more digitally independent.
The University Computer Center in Greifswald invites you to “DI.Day” (Digital Independence Day). On this day, interested participants will receive practical assistance in increasing their digital independence and finding alternatives to popular services. Anyone who brings their own smartphone or laptop will receive assistance with topics such as installing alternative operating systems, switching to privacy-friendly messaging apps, or moving to a new email provider.
This is the third time the Computing Center has participated in this nationwide initiative. DI.Day originated from a consumer protection movement that aims to promote a more conscious use of digital services and a stronger focus on data protection online.
