After fourteen years behind bars, Anker (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) is released from prison. The loot from his robbery back then has never turned up—only his brother Manfred (Mads Mikkelsen) knows where it’s hidden. But in the meantime, Manfred’s mental state has deteriorated significantly, and his memories of the money’s whereabouts have grown hazy. Together, the unlikely brothers embark on a quest that becomes more than just a hunt for the loot. As they struggle through their past and old wounds, they are faced with an even more important question: Who are they really—and can there be a fresh start for them?
