Thomas Fritzsching, is the initiator, founder and namesake of the Berlin band "Silly". From 1977 to 1994, he was their guitarist and bandleader.

He had a vision for a band that would be clearly different from all GDR rock bands. In his search for new paths, it was a two-month club tour in Amsterdam that inspired him significantly and encouraged him to put his idea into practice. The early years were difficult. Without Thomas Fritzsching, "Silly" would not have survived. Time and again, he sought and found solutions, even in hopeless situations. But in the end, his strategy worked. In this book, he describes the long road to success.
Of the adversities and rollercoasters between euphoria and despair. Of the attempts by the powerful in the state institutions to destroy the band by all means and tricks. Of the cohesion of a close-knit community, but also of human weaknesses, disappointments, egotism and external desires. He is mercilessly open about some things and withdrawn, delicate and sensitive about others. He also shows his own weak side. The feeling of being bullied and not having fought back. Self-doubt and depression, which tormented him for several years. The disappointments run deep. There was the one-sided separation by his former band colleagues with the special role of the icon Tamara Danz, whom he had once cast. But above all, it is the disrespectful treatment of him that continues to this day.
Thomas Fritzsching has written it off his chest. He tells his story confidently, thoughtfully and without resentment. But the bitter feeling of losing his, as he writes, "baby and life's work", remains.
