Arthouse Cinema
A family idyll in 1950s France: Michel (Didier Bourdon), mediocre, is a bank employee and breadwinner, his better half Hélène (Elsa Zylberstein), permed but rebellious, takes care of the household and children. The patriarchal paradise seems perfect until a short circuit in the washing machine they have just moved in catapults them into the year 2025. Suddenly the roles are redistributed. While Hélène, despite all her cluelessness, does surprisingly well as a career-intensive power woman, Michel has to toil as a househusband in the smart home. Instead of subjugation rhetoric, Michel now needs empowerment, while Hélène enjoys the freedom of emancipation. But the brave new world has its pitfalls: the virtual voice assistant is a stubborn goat, you have to put the furniture together yourself, the dog poo is picked up off the floor and your daughter wants to marry her girlfriend. Now the disempowered head of the family has had enough. He wants to go back to the good old days and he wants to do it now! If only he knew how to program the smart washing machine to go back in time.
