"The Oldies & Friends" is a cover band dedicated to the music of the 1950s through the 1980s. We've loved this music since our youth and remain captivated by the sound and flair of that era. Through our music, we aim to keep the spirit of that time alive and bring back memories.
The current band evolved from the group “The Teachers” (2000), which made its first appearances at the “BEAT - Club” in Stralsund.
Following lineup changes, this led to “The OLDIES” and later to the current band, “The OLDIES & Friends,” consisting of:
Helmut Walewski (drums) and
Niclas Strominski (bass), who provide the drive for the band.
Uwe Schlak (guitar, vocals), as lead guitarist, adds special flair with his riffs.
With Manfred (Mücke) Heidtmann (key, voc), we were able to bring an accomplished keyboardist and singer onto our team.
Hartmuth Wegner (guitar, vocals), co-founder and “veteran” of the “Oldies,” is the band’s lead singer.
The “Oldies” from the ’50s through the ’80s are our passion, which we blend with our music.
“Good old music forever”—that’s our motto, which we strive to live up to at every performance in order to inspire and captivate our audience.
