Life deep down on the seabed is wonderful. In the castle of the Sea King, nothing is lacking, there is wealth and splendor everywhere. But the little mermaid becomes increasingly bored and longs for the realm above sea level. When she is finally allowed to surface, she falls in love with the land, its people - and with the prince. Getting there, among the people, becomes her most fervent wish. She swaps her voice and her cheerfulness so that she can grow legs and walk on earth. Will she be happy there?
