By Marc-Uwe Kling / Scenic reading
One day, a kangaroo rings the doorbell of a moderately successful small-time artist and wants to borrow some eggs. When, in addition to the other ingredients, the stove for preparing the pancakes is also missing, the kangaroo moves in with him without further ado. This involuntary shared apartment marks the beginning of a wonderful friendship - or rather of anarchic chaos?
The kangaroo is a convinced communist, loves boozy chocolates and Nirvana and despises capitalism and the bourgeoisie. While the first-person narrator struggles with the challenges of everyday life as a small-time artist, the cheeky marsupial plans a revolutionary upheaval.
With sharp wit, anarchic humor and an unwavering flair for absurd dialogue, Marc-Uwe Kling's Kangaroo Chronicles have long been a cult classic. The kangaroo is now making its way into the Atelier Theater in a staged reading.
