What remains of a life that exists only in the here and now? At a nursing facility in Stuttgart, documentary filmmaker Stefan Sick observes people with dementia as they go about their daily rituals in what is practically an ideal care setting.
Dementia—a diagnosis that changes everything for those affected and their loved ones. Accepting the disease seems just as difficult as dealing with it appropriately. But perhaps it’s more about empathy than understanding? Through observation, *The Inner Glow* explores the everyday lives of people with dementia in a care facility and builds a strong emotional connection with them. The film offers a poetic interpretation of this unique condition and aims to help alleviate fears surrounding dementia and to accept each individual as a human being.
