Communication - social behavior - biocoenoses Hike through the Dargun recreational forest with the support association
Trees are indispensable for life on earth. Not only do they provide valuable building and fuel material, they also play a central role in the water cycle by transporting water to the most remote areas. In addition, they clean the air by absorbing carbon dioxide (CO2) and thus make an important contribution to climate protection. It is only through these diverse functions that trees make life on our planet possible and preserve the ecological balance.
But trees can do even more: contrary to popular belief, they are by no means loners. They communicate with each other, support each other and even enter into symbiotic relationships with other forest dwellers. Many people are hardly aware of these fascinating aspects of the hidden life of trees.
Retired forester Norbert Templin from the Förderverein explains how these invisible connections work and what purpose they serve as part of a guided hike through the Dargun monastery forest. Participants will have the opportunity to gain exciting insights into the mysterious world of trees.
The meeting point for the event is the parking lot of the forest adventure trail near the Dargun lido on Saturday, August 15 at 2 pm. It is recommended that you wear clothing suitable for the weather. In the event of heavy rain or stormy weather, the event will unfortunately have to be canceled.
