Following the box-office hit *THE EARTH IS FLAT*, the HERKULESKEULE ensemble returns to the Kleingarten: with new scripts and songs, but in the same old tradition—going against the grain, without regard for sensitivities from left to right, against thought control, and for peace! With six left-handed hands, blunt shovels, but sharp tongues, three cabaret artists debate the question: Is it still okay to plant a tree in this world? Or wouldn’t they be better off digging a bunker—as protection against the left’s fantasies of saving the world and the right’s populist delusions, against speech bans, against the exclusion of anyone who disagrees with the voluntarily uniform voice of the press? Or are these all smokescreens in a new battle over the distribution of wealth between rich and poor? They delve into the depths of propaganda, encountering the nonsensical and the absurd. What is left to believe in, what is left to fight for? Tree or bunker? The future or digging in? HERKULESKEULE offers no answers.
