Freely adapted from the world-famous novels by Ehm Welk Duration of performance: approx. 2 hours (including approx. 20 minutes intermission)
What's going on in Kummerow? Everything seems to revolve around the miller. He beats his horses and mistreats the animals. He cheats the farmers by selling them flour and underpaid grain. He insults the children and threatens to chase Krischan out of the village in the village council. It soon becomes clear to the children: the miller must leave Kummerow. But how? The "heathens of Kummerow" naturally come up with lots of funny and cheeky pranks to keep annoying the miller. Will that be enough to drive him out of Kummerow? Krischan actively helps the children. He also seems to have a good reason for the miller's disappearance. But what is this secret that could even bring the miller to court? The children are desperate to find out. But Krischan remains silent. Will he break his silence to Constable Niemeier and send the miller to prison for good?
