This is the story of Selma Klich.
She lived from 1911 to 2006 and her years were like a string of pearls through an incredible period of German history! She would never have described any of the years of her life as a pearl. She was a secretive person - humble before any authority, vulnerable and headstrong. She knew only duty, knew how to work like a horse, but was unable to love with a laughing heart. Selma Klich never told her story herself. Only fragments of her life remain: A few photos, official documents, memories of a few contemporaries still scattered around the country, whose lives Selma Klich once crossed.
Günther H. W. Preuße and his co-author Monika Klich have succeeded in creating a novelistic narrative, a mosaic. You can see: From hundreds of small stones and splinters, a whole appears again. The best way to recognize it is to take a few steps back to look at it. Perhaps even squinting one eye. Because a human path is incomprehensible. We stand in amazement before the cosmos of a woman's life and experience a journey through time.
On this evening, Günther H. W. Preuße will read episodes from his book. The literary association cordially invites you to attend.
