In the year 2025, 30 distant relatives learn that they will inherit a house in Normandy that has been empty for years. Four cousins are commissioned to inspect the house. They come across traces of the mysterious Adèle.
By working together, they learn more about their ancestor, who left home at the age of 20 to search for her mother in Paris. Arriving in the capital in 1895, Adèle experiences the fin de siècle in the midst of an industrial and cultural revolution. Through their introspective journey in their genealogy, the four descendants discover a special moment at the end of the 19th century, marked by impressionism and photography.
