A travelogue about an adventurous and moving bike tour filled with wonderful encounters and diverse landscapes.
At the Greifswald Adult Education Center (VHS), located at Martin-Lutherstraße 7a, Reinhard Klette will present an entertaining and thought-provoking account of his one-month bicycle tour through the Baltic states on Wednesday, September 16, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The Adult Education Center asks that you register by September 6, 2026. There is a fee of 10 €.
As a retired math teacher, the author has loved cycling since childhood. He’ll take you along on his sometimes adventurous and deeply moving tour through the Masurian forests, along the Curonian Spit, into Baltic midsummer nights, to Tallinn, and to the Estonian women’s island of Kihnu, which has already been featured in several documentary films on NDR.
Through numerous photos, he showcases a wide variety of Baltic landscapes, while also describing his diverse and wonderful encounters with Baltic residents. He vividly illustrates the complex relationship with the neighboring giant, Russia, and offers a brief insight into the history of the Baltic countries.
In his lecture and in his nearly 200-page brochure, he takes you on a first-hand journey through his tour and aims to encourage you to venture out and do something a bit out of the ordinary.
