Live at the Schalander!
The Störtebeker Braugasthaus and the Baltic Blues Band & Friends are kicking things off in Greifswald with a new concert series. The goal is to bring live music back to the Schalander rooms in the basement of the Braugasthaus. To that end, there will be a blues/rock concert on the first Thursday of every month and a jazz concert on the second Wednesday of every month. These two live music series will take place during the winter season, starting in October 2026 through April 2027. Musicians who perform solo, as a duo, or as a band and present a diverse program were invited to participate. A brief historical aside: In the past, the term “Schalander” referred to the room in a brewery where workers changed clothes and spent their breaks. Today, it is more of a bar or beer-tasting room in a brewery restaurant. The concerts start at 8:00 p.m.; admission is free, but donations are welcome. The series kicks off with the Hummingbirds Trio from Greifswald. Here are the first dates for the blues-rock series:
