Lecture with Dr. Wolf Karge January 22, 2026, 5 p.m., in the Ludwigslust town hall

The Ludwigslust City Library and the Mecklenburg Foundation invite you to a lecture by Dr. Wolf Karge on the Techentin artists' workshop. The training facility with a small number of artists was only open for a short time. It was founded on the initiative of the Techentin painter Hermann Schepler. The prosperous period was between mid-1946 and mid-1947, when the young artists also attracted attention beyond Ludwigslust.

As there was no permanent financial support from the state of Mecklenburg, the training company was closed again in mid-1948. The Schwerin historian Dr. Wolf Karge reports on this workshop in the context of a completely new and changing art policy in the first post-war years. The lecture will take place on January 22, 2026 and begins at 5 p.m.
