Musical in two acts / Book by Marshall Brickmann and Rick Elice / Music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa / Based on the characters of Charles Addams
Nobody would wish Gomez and Morticia Addams to be parents. They live with their family in a house in Central Park in New York. Death, pain, darkness? They think it's great! But daughter Wednesday, until now a true princess of darkness, has fallen in love with Lucas, a handsome young man from the best family ... Papa Gomez doesn't take this well at all, and he certainly doesn't want to have to keep it a secret from his beloved Morticia! What Wednesday wants is for Lucas' parents' upcoming family visit to go off without a hitch. Is she really that naïve?
Charles Addams, famous comic artist of the 1930s, invented the characters of his Addams Family for The New Yorker magazine, which is still famous today - and they are more alive than ever, as the series Wednesday and the musical prove. Composer Andrew Lippa and his two Tony-winning authors Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice have created a pitch-black comedy for the stage, which can now be experienced for the first time in Rostock at the Volkstheater Summer.
