Outdoor Reading Stage
“terrain vague” is more of a reading lawn than a reading stage. The founders—Everest Girard, David Lorenz, and Claudia Schlegel—invite two to three authors, mostly from Rostock/M-V, to readings in gardens or courtyards, where they perform short texts together with them in a program lasting about one hour. The reading locations and atmosphere change, but the setting remains the same: a chair, a table, a speaker. The audience sits on blankets or folding chairs. A text is created in parallel with the reading—everyone is allowed to contribute and add sections to the text without knowing what is in the preceding sections. At the end, the text is revealed in its entirety and read aloud.
