Meetings and Discussions for Local History Collectors and Researchers in Parchim
Three presentations in the program will showcase new research findings.
Dr. Martin Buchsteiner from the University of Greifswald will present a digital election atlas that allows users to access election results from 1919 to 1932 for the villages and towns of Mecklenburg-Schwerin.
Bernd Garrels’ presentation takes a closer look at one of these election results: the special election for the Crivitz City Council held on March 6, 1932.
In the field of military history, Wolfgang Utecht reports on his many years of research into the “Pulverhof” air force munitions factory, which operated in Uelitz from 1936 to 1945.
To mark the anniversary year of the city of Parchim, Antonia Krüger, director of the Parchim City Museum, will offer a special guided tour providing insight into the exhibition “800 Years of City Whispers: An Exhibition on Everyday Culture.”
In the area of source research, Matthias Brand will share useful tips on proper image archiving in local history work.
