Dance theater based on the ballet music by Peter Tchaikovsky
Swan Lake - almost 150 years ago, Peter Tchaikovsky created what is probably the most famous ballet music in the world by setting this story to music. Prince Siegfried, tired of the tiresome duty of choosing a bride, meets Odette, who initially appeared to him in the form of a swan, while hunting at Swan Lake in the moonlight. The evil sorcerer Redbeard had transformed her - and he overhears the two newly in love. What they don't know: Red Beard will bring Odile, who looks just like Odette, to the ball at the castle. With her, known to everyone as the Black Swan, he will cause a lot of trouble ... So who is who? And the question behind it: Is our happiness dependent on others?
The Volkstheater will bring this classic to the stage for the whole family - with the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock live in the orchestra pit! The dance company revisits the story - not with the multiple swans in the corps de ballet of the big houses, but with expressive dance soloists, with Claudia Charlotte Burchard's captivating stage and costume design and virtuoso choreography.
