Belfast, summer 1969: 9-year-old Buddy loves the movies, Matchbox, his grandparents and Catherine, his classmate. But when political tensions escalate in the Northern Irish capital, violence breaks out in the otherwise harmonious neighborhood. Buddy and his family are also caught between the fronts of Catholics and Protestants, English and Irish, police and protest movement. Buddy tries to make sense of it all and adds his imagination to the incomprehensible.
