Concert with texts by Gertrud Kolmar and works by Bach, Albert and Pachelbel.
In 1933, at a time of fear and dwindling security, the Jewish author Gertrud Kolmar expressed her hopelessness with strong words - words of lament, quite political. In and around the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648), people found a religious language for their pain and their hope for a better life, often cast in heavenly music. A young ensemble of three musicians juxtaposes these forms of expression in a concert and provides space to let go, reflect and feel confidence - what is our language for worry and hope?
