From the Beach to the Museum: The OZEANEUM’s summer vacation workshop invites families with children to identify items found on the beach.
When you walk along the beach, you’ll discover all sorts of things: rocks, seashells, seaweed, and sometimes even small crabs or other animals. But unfortunately, broken glass, trash, and pieces of plastic are no longer a rare sight either.
In our summer vacation workshop, we invite museum visitors to join us in exploring and identifying the most common finds from the Baltic Sea beach. We’ll bring magnifying glasses and binoculars so we can take a closer look at the beach’s treasures, such as fossils.
Meeting point: In the classroom next to the penguin exhibit
Duration: Open to all from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Wednesdays and Thursdays during the summer vacation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania)
Cost: Free with a valid museum ticket
Recommended age: Suitable for families; no age restriction
Additional information: No registration required. Feel free to bring your own small beach finds.
