To wrap up the summer concert series, St. Mary’s Church in Barth invites you to a festive brass concert on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Under the title“Songs by Paul Gerhardt,” attendees can look forward to a varied evening featuring the Barth Trombone Choir.
The musical direction will be provided by State Trombone Director Martin Huss, who has been shaping trombone music in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern since 1999. In this role, he oversees approximately 1,300 brass players in more than 100 trombone choirs within the Nordkirche and is deeply committed to the training and continuing education of the choirs and their conductors.
As part of a project day in Barth, musicians from the region will collaborate to develop a challenging concert program centered on the well-known and beloved hymns of the Protestant hymn writer Paul Gerhardt. The results of this collaborative effort will be performed that evening against the impressive backdrop of St. Mary’s Church.
In addition to festive and resonant brass pieces, guests can also look forward to Martin Huss’s typically humorous hosting. You can expect an entertaining and atmospheric concert evening that combines community, tradition, and the joy of music.
Start: 6:00 p.m.
