entertaining and masterful
Tangos, pop, and well-known jazz pieces, as well as original compositions and classics from the saxophone repertoire, will be performed on Thursday, August 6, at 7:39 p.m., at Holy Cross Church on Goethestraße. Performed by the trio “Les Connaisseurs” as part of the summer concert series, the musicians have been playing together on saxophones from the 1930s for more than two decades. The musicians of “Les Connaisseurs” hope that the audience will share their enthusiasm and joy for music—with the warm, lyrical sound of the saxophones—in this concert with connoisseurs and lovers of handmade instruments and mouth-blown sounds. Their music is for connoisseurs. “Connaisseurs” is a French term, the meaning of which also carries a connotation of connoisseur. But there’s something else behind the name “Les Connaisseurs”: “Conn,” the name of the American saxophone manufacturer whose instruments were of exceptional quality up until World War II and are characterized by a particularly warm sound.
Rainer Hanke (alto saxophone) | Achim Kleiner (baritone saxophone) | Gert Anklam (soprano saxophone)
We cordially invite the residents of Waren and guests in the region to let themselves be tempted to indulge in this musical delight.
Admission is free—donations are requested after the concert.
