A musical journey through the ages, across land and water
Flute & Piano: Between Melody and Timbre
Hendrik Adam (flute) and Mathias Weber (piano)
The evening begins with Bach’s Sonata in B minor, performed with a finely tuned balance that is transparent, agile, and carried by a quiet intensity.
Mozart’s Piano Sonata (Hunting Sonata) in D major provides a clear contrast: brilliant and characterized by playful lightness and virtuosity.
After the intermission, the flute takes center stage. Debussy’s “Syrinx” unfolds freely and with a sense of breathing, almost like an improvised monologue.
Ravel’s “Ondine” conjures shimmering watery images on the piano—fleeting, iridescent, and full of subtle movement—that bring the legendary figure of Ondine to life.
In Reinecke’s “Undine” Sonata, both instruments ultimately come together in a grand, narrative form: romantic, rich in color, and permeated by flowing drama.
A program that not only bridges eras but also opens up finely nuanced sonic spaces. A concert like a river: sometimes calm, sometimes turbulent, always in motion—and full of timbres that linger long after.
Let yourself be carried away by this vitality—be in the flow, in the best sense of the word.
