A Pirate Show of a Special Kind
Even today, his name comes up whenever the most popular figures of the Neue Deutsche Welle are discussed. Bernward Büker has been active in music since the mid-1970s. In the early 1980s, when the German-language version of punk and new wave (NDW) reached its commercial peak, he founded the “Bernward Büker Bande” with renowned musicians, including Heiner Lüring, who later joined Heinz Rudolf Kunze’s band, the “Bernward Büker Bande, ” which garnered significant public attention in a very short time. They released two LPs and several singles. In 1986, drawing on a wide stylistic range, the single “Wilde Abenteuer” was released; it is considered the starting point of his musical success story and was followed by numerous productions that regularly rank high on the airplay charts.
Under his alter ego“Störtebüker”—inspired by the pirate Klaus Störtebeker—the versatile artist now focuses primarily on his authentic “pirate shows.”
With his crew and a treasure chest brimming with treasure, he tours throughout Germany, delighting young and old alike with live music, attractions, activities, fun, and comedy.
At the heart of this lively party is the STÖRTEBÜKER band, featuring a star-studded lineup including rockin’ blues guitarist Jürgen “Jay” Bailey, Jürgen Dehmel (formerly of the Nena Band), and the consummate musician Michael Joch, who create a fantastic atmosphere and an explosive party vibe with their rock-infused sound.
In addition to “pirate”-themed cover songs, their repertoire naturally includes a
cross-section of Büker’s greatest hits from his long career, as well as new songs and tracks that will be played on the radio in the future. Current single: “Komm mit uns”
