On Saturday, October 11, 2025, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The meeting point is the small hiking parking lot southeast of the Pinnow glider airfield. We are again looking for volunteers for this year's work assignment to preserve the dry and nutrient-poor grasslands in the "Trockenhänge am Petersberg" nature reserve.
This year, the M-V Environmental and Nature Conservation Foundation will once again be carrying out work with volunteers in the "Trockenhänge am Petersberg" nature reserve (NSG). The foundation wants to promote the preservation and development of the dry and nutrient-poor grasslands in the area, which are the habitat of many rare plant and animal species. Sheep grazing is used to keep these valuable dry sites open. However, the gorse also requires mechanical suppression to prevent it from becoming dominant in the area. The gorse is therefore cut back with loppers and brush cutters during the annual work assignments.
