On June 5, 2026 at 19:00, the author Stefan Meetschen will be our guest and present his new novel "The Girl in Blue".
The novel is a melancholy, sensual tale about love, literature and the search for a European identity between the Mediterranean and the fall of the Berlin Wall. With clear elegance and subtle irony, Meetschen unfolds the story of a summer full of light and shadow - a coming-of-age novel that breathes the atmosphere of the late 1980s.
Stefan Meetschen, an author between Warsaw and Warnemünde, will provide insights into his writing in an interview. Stephan Dierichs, an actor at the Volkstheater Rostock during the reunification years, will host the evening and read from the new book as well as from earlier works by the author such as "Ghosts Like Us" (2024) and "Requiem for a Friend" (2004), which also contain references to Rostock and Warnemünde. The Edvard Munch House - a place of art and encounters directly on the Alter Strom - provides the perfect atmospheric setting.
We look forward to a literary evening by the sea and to sharing this special moment with you.
