On State Zoo Day, visitors can look forward to a varied program featuring guided animal feedings, exciting mini-tours, an animal show, rides on the zoo’s horse, and plenty of opportunities to interact with the animals. Thanks to the support of the state government, all children are admitted free of charge.
State Zoo Day on July 10, 2026, falls on the last day of school before summer vacation this year, making it the perfect start to the summer break. Thanks to support from the state government, all children will receive free admission to the Stralsund Zoo on this day.
To mark the occasion, the Zoo School has put together a varied program. Exciting mini-tours and narrated feeding demonstrations will take visitors to see polar wolves, chimpanzees, porcupines, pelicans, and zebra mongooses. In addition, the crowned crane—named “Zoo Animal of the Year”—will be the focus of a short guided tour. In the afternoon, visitors can enjoy riding the zoo’s horse and an animal show that’s sure to get everyone excited.
