Sperger reloaded - tradition meets creativity (chamber orchestra)

To mark the 150th anniversary of the town of Ludwigslust, the Ludwigslust-Parchim District Music School is dedicating a festival to its namesake, the composer and court contrabassist Johann Matthias Sperger (1750-1812) - his music, its roots in the courtly sound world of the 18th century and its lively rediscovery in our time.

Teachers and advanced students of the Kreismusikschule present chamber music by Johann Matthias Sperger in its original form, in arrangements and in newly arranged fragments. A lively dialog between historical sounds and today's musical handwriting.
