Swedish singer-songwriter Sofia Talvik is an artist who captivates her audience with quiet intensity and a powerful stage presence. Sofia Talvik has released ten studio albums to date, many of which have reached the Top 10 on the American folk radio charts. Although Sofia Talvik often performs alone on stage, her concerts are anything but minimalist. With her delicate guitar playing, rhythmic percussion—which she creates herself with her feet using her cowboy boots—and her clear, soaring voice, she creates a surprisingly rich and vibrant soundscape. Her voice is reminiscent of the great female singer-songwriters of the 1970s, such as Joni Mitchell and Judy Collins—warm, expressive, and possessing an almost ethereal quality.
