“So Long. Hallelujah.”
Unknown songs, including many hits, as well as an exploration of his biography and spirituality, which have become the foundation for many of his songs: Inspiring romantic relationships, wartime experiences as a musician on the front lines in Israel, drug escapades, life crises—and through it all, his love for his faith, along with literature, painting, and music. His songs speak of an incredible vastness, yet remain so intimate and trustworthy. That’s Cohen for you. Moreover, he always felt a deep connection to God and Jesus, praying the “Hallelujah” in both the synagogue and the church.
“There is a crack in everything. That’s where the light gets in.” There is a crack in everything. That’s where the light gets in, as his famous song “Anthem” says.
