Reading with Ingrid Thörnqvist at the City Library
For 50 years, Queen Silvia of Sweden has served the Swedish monarchy. Born in Heidelberg, she has shaped her role far beyond ceremonial duties and has shown great dedication to the protection of children and people with dementia.
In her book *Beruf: Königin* (*Occupation: Queen*), Swedish journalist and author Ingrid Thörnqvist paints a portrait of a woman whose life balances tradition, public life, and personal commitment. For a year, she accompanied Queen Silvia to official engagements and behind the scenes. In her lecture in German on August 18 at 7 p.m. at the City Library at Ulmenstr. 15 , she will show numerous photos from that time and offer rare insights into the daily life of a queen who has played a decisive role in shaping the image of the Swedish monarchy for half a century. The author was a foreign correspondent for Swedish television in Vienna and Berlin. She will be happy to answer questions related to the lecture.
