"Nosferatu - A symphony of horror"
Wisborg, 1838: Thomas and Ellen Hutter lead a peaceful life in the quiet harbor town until Thomas travels to Transylvania on behalf of the estate agent Knock to sell a house to Count Orlok.
The vampire's castle is a place of horror, Orlok himself a figure of horror. Hutter injures himself at dinner and the count feeds on his blood with greedy lust. But the real danger follows him to Wisborg: Orlok travels with coffins full of horrors and imported rats that bring death and plague to the town.
Ellen, whose heart is pure and courageous, recognizes the disaster. With knowledge from an old book, she confronts the vampire, luring him into a final night of bloodlust - until the sun destroys the horror. Her sacrifice ends death in Wisborg and redeems the town from the dark horror.
Tobias Rank
Tobias Rank, Leipzig-based pianist, composer and free spirit, has always moved between music, poetry and the stage. Trained in piano, composition and improvisation, he found his voice in new music - and in the dialog between sound and word. His works, often settings of poetry, combine depth and lightness, melancholy and humor.
With the WANDERKINO, his traveling silent movie theater, he brought music to people all over Europe. As a lecturer and traveler, his path has taken him around the world, and as a chansonnier he found a new literary form in 2018. Tobias Rank received the German Silent Film Award in 2023.
