Shannon Callahan
Hot Summer Nights !
Growing up in San Francisco, Shannon Callahan felt
drawn to the gospel choirs of the churches in her home neighborhood of Haight Ashbury at an early age.
The spirit of the legendary neighborhood, long after Jimi Hendrix, Jannis
Joplin, hippie and flower power, had marked out the destiny of the budding musician.
The path to becoming a versatile vocalist initially led via classical training and
extended concert activities on opera and musical stages. With a proven talent for
songwriting, the singer quickly made a name for herself as a singer-songwriter
with a wide range of styles.
With Jürgen Heckel, best known for his long-standing fusion jazz band Bajazzo and
powerful rhythm group, Shannon Callahan presents the two summer nights as
sight seeing of pop, soul and jazz history, with songs by Chaka Khan, Joni Mitchell,
Marvin Gaye and many more.
