Rosary Sonatas I
A unique manuscript was rediscovered a good 100 years ago: Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber's Rosary Sonatas: a sequence of three times five adorations of the mysteries of faith. They have since been regarded as one of the highlights of European Baroque music. For the Greifswald Bach Week, they will be performed in an unusual version and instrumentation in a night concert and a morning concert.
Two "joyful" and the five "painful" mysteries will be performed at night in the Annenkapelle.
