International Museum Day on May 17, 2026
The time has come again - the historic tile pottery in Waren (Müritz) is awakening from its winter hibernation. We cordially invite you to the opening of this year's summer season on May 17, 2026, International Museum Day!
Explore the technical monument where kiln tiles were produced by hand for around 30 years from 1905. During guided tours through the building, you will learn more about the production of that time. Numerous tiles from different periods can be (re)discovered, as can the display kilns set up by ceramic designer Franz Poppe, ranging from baroque to parlor kilns.
Cornelia Poppe shows ceramics from her workshop in Waren and demonstrates her craft on the potter's wheel. The impressive Raku show firing will also take place again as is traditional.
Coffee and cake, a creative offer for children and a joint book stall with the Waren town library round off the festival.
Admission is free.
