On April 11, 2026, the State capital Schwerin invites you to the market square from 11:00 - 16:00. The fire department, aid organizations and THW will present their work in civil protection - with hands-on technology, exciting insights and hands-on activities for young and old.
Together with the Schwerin fire department, the DRK, the JUH, the THW and the ASB, you can expect a varied program for the whole family - with demonstrations, hands-on technology and lots of hands-on activities.
The day offers you the opportunity to get first-hand information: How does help work in an emergency? Who is on duty? How can you contribute to safety yourself? Take the opportunity to ask questions and pick up valuable tips for emergency and crisis situations.
What you can expect
- Demonstrations on medical care in the event of major emergencies
- Insights into decontamination measures for hazardous substance accidents
- Emergency vehicles and technology to look at and try out
- Tour of the disaster control command vehicle
- Presentation of the drone for situational awareness
- Hands-on activities at the THW
- Presentation of other civil protection units (including psychosocial emergency care)
- Presentation of the water hazard group
- Information on the first aid app "ASB shocks"
- Presentation of "Team MV" - commitment and opportunities for spontaneous helpers
- Quiz about civil protection with small prizes
- Activities for children, young people and adults
